Editorial

Hello,

I would like to thank the many persons who attended the General Assembly of the Association Fête du Vent et de la Mer on January 29th at "l'Abri du Marin" in Plouhinec.

Due to the success of la Route de l'Amitié, the organisation of the Association is going to be strongly restructured to distribute the responsibilities even better, so new appointments took place at the meeting. Additionally, the dates for la Route de l'Amitié 2011 are in the process of being decided.

To learn more about it, I invite you to read the meeting report which will be soon published on this site and to watch as soon as now the GA video.

Fair wind and see you soon.

La Fête du vent et de la Mer

The association Fête du Vent et de la Mer came into being on 17th November 1995.

The main objective was to be forward-looking and progressive, whilst preserving traditions which are the richness of the Brittany patrimony.

route de l'amitie

It organised the first Route de l’Amitié on 5th July 1998.

The association put in place a solid organisation with notably the obligation for harbours wishing to welcome the event to comply with a quality charter.

Resources dedicated to assistance and safety all along the Route are provided by about 30 boats.

Public and private partners support the event, and the Media promote La Route through their features, articles and reports.

Volunteers on whom La Route de l’Amitié relies, number about 800. Without them and our partners, La Route would simply not exist.

The "Route de l’Amitié"

The fleet is limited to 160 boats, which means more than 750 crew members, due to the limited capacity of some of the harbours en route.

Its uniqueness comes from the great diversity of sail-boats which participate - including pretty much every type of craft from old gaff riggers, through yawls to modern pleasure yachts.

Registrations take into account not only boats' aesthetics, but also the human quality of the crews.

You are able to register on this site, but please note that the number of places is limited by the capacity of the harbours visited.
